The Assistive Technology and Accessible Educational Materials (AT&AEM) Center powered by OCALI is seeking to fill two news positions, AEM Specialist and Braille/VI Consultant. Please follow the links for more information and the application for each position.

The AT&AEM Center (ataem.org) is a centralized, responsive resource center that empowers individuals with disabilities by providing accessible educational materials, access to assistive technologies and highly specialized technical assistance, and professional development support.

 

Special Education Regional Summits

Thank you to those who participated in our first two Special Education Leadership Summits. There is still space available at our Athens location on February 1, 2017, however registration has now closed for the last Summit in Bowling Green on February 7, 2017. The Regional Summits will provide information and discussion around the topics of literacy, school climate and discipline, graduation options for students with disabilities and transition. Sessions will include updates regarding the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), as well as data and trends related to the state of special education in Ohio and at the national level.

2017 OAASFEP Title I/Federal Programs Spring Conference, 

Connecting Learning: Every School, Every Day 

Don't miss the 2017 OAASFEP Title I/Feder

al Programs Spring Conference: Connecting Learning: Every School, Every Day. The conference opens with a buffet dinner on Tuesday evening, April 4th, and ends at noon on Thursday, April 6th.  Information will be shared on the existing requirements under the former ESEA law, while sharing new information and planning on the new law, Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

Who should attend this timely conference?

  • Title I teachers, classroom and special education teachers, principals, paraprofessionals, parents, coordinators, central office administrators, parent coordinators, treasurers, and superintendents.
  • Supervisors and administrators of IDEA/Special Education programs.
  • County Educational Service Center or Joint Vocational School representatives.
  • Teachers and administrators of English Language Learner (ELL) Programs.
  • Community school principals, teachers, fiscal agents or other representatives.
  • Nonpublic school teachers, principals or representatives.
  • State Support Teams, managers and district coaches.
